Overview
The Directorate of Market Supervision is responsible for oversight and monitoring operations of stock and commodity exchanges, securities depository, Brokers, Dealers, Fund managers, Tanzania Stockbrokers Association, Custodians, Nominated Advisors, Investment Advisors and Collective Investment Schemes to prevent and limit risks that could potentially affect the stability of and the public confidence in the Tanzania’s capital market. Market supervision is done through market surveillance, off-site and onsite inspection and Investigation. The directorate is also entrusted with the tasks of promoting and developing relevant market infrastructure to ensure its stability, reliability, efficiency, and compliance with international standards, so that the capital market industry is resilient enough to withstand volatility and support market integration, as well as to able to provide investors with appropriate risk management tools.
